DESCRIPTION:Join us this summer as we celebrate “A Pioneer Woman” at Gibbs Farm with two special program series\, “Sunday Series: A Pioneer Woman’s Kitchen” and “Farm Fridays: A Pioneer Woman’s Craft Heritage.” \nGibbs Farm Sunday Series: A Pioneer Woman’s Kitchen\nSunday\, July 24: Bread & Butter\nOther Programs: July 10\, July 17\, July 31\n1:00-2:30 pm\nOpen to all\nAdmission: $8 adults\, $7 seniors 62+\, $5 children ages 4-16. Free for RCHS members.\nThe Gibbs Farm is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am-4:00 pm\, Memorial Day weekend through the end of October.\nThousands upon thousands of pioneer women flooded into Minnesota during the territorial and early statehood years. Many of these women left behind family and friends to move halfway across America\, or even half way across the world\, to settle into their new homes. \nAlong with their husbands\, they established schools and churches\, raised families and contributed to the heritage of our state. \nA pioneer woman’s kitchen was considered the heart of the home. It was in this realm that women created family recipes and specialties that remain a part of our Minnesota heritage today. \nEach topic will include a history and a hands-on activity to take home. \nPrograms are open to all. \nFree parking in our Gibbs Farm lot. \nNote: Please schedule groups of more than 10 guests two weeks in advance.  \nProgram Schedule\nPrograms are led by costumed Gibbs Farm interpretive staff.
