Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with history in a meaningful and inspiring setting. \nThis event is part of a series of showings with TPT\, Dakota County Historical Society\, Hennepin History Museum\, and Minnesota Historical Society. \nCorporate funding for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION was provided by Bank of America. Set against the rustic beauty of Gibbs Farm\, this special evening celebrates the harvest with a thoughtfully crafted three-course dinner by Chef Weston Smith and Chef Catherine Olsen—each course inspired by and sourced directly from local gardens. \nBegin the night in the courtyard with a relaxed happy hour featuring complimentary wine and beer\, accompanied by live music from Chris Koza. As the sun lingers a little longer and the gardens glow with late-summer abundance\, you’ll enjoy an experience that brings together history\, community\, and the flavors of the farm in perfect harmony. \nLocal Effort\nBased in Roseville\, Local Effort is led by chef team Weston Smith and Catherine Olsen. They cook for small events with a special focus on locally grown and produced ingredients\, especially from Minnesota or Wisconsin. \nWeston makes beautiful sourdough breads\, pizza\, bean-to-bar chocolate\, and memorable meats like duck mortadella. He’s especially interested in nutrition and well sourced ingredients in home cooking. Catherine is a Minneapolis native and a local restaurant veteran. She makes fresh handmade pastas and beautiful cakes and pastry\, and has a gift for thoughtful\, sincere hospitality. Local Effort makes American food with midwestern ingredients\, combining restaurant techniques with a home cook’s sensibility. \nChris Koza\nChris Koza is a composer and performer based in Denver\, Colorado and Minneapolis\, Minnesota. Both solo and with his band Rogue Valley\, he has supported and shared the stage with artists such as Brandi Carlile\, Gordon Lightfoot\, Ingrid Michaelson\, The Jayhawks\, Neko Case\, Kathleen Edwards\, Dan Wilson\, and Stephen Kellogg\, among others. His music appears regularly on ABC’s General Hospital\, 60 Minutes\, and Good Morning America\, and his song\, “Be Wild\,” was featured in a State of Minnesota tourism campaign. His song (Rogue Valley)\, “The Wolves and the Ravens\,” was featured in Ben Stiller’s film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Chris often performs solo with an acoustic guitar but also performs as a duo\, trio\, and 4-or-5 piece band. \nIn his writing\, Chris both honors and builds on the vast genre of Americana music. For every song that sounds like it could be strummed from a boxcar clacking slowly across a grassy midwestern plain\, there’s a tune sailing from a city rooftop\, echoing across a valley of streets and traffic\, or a melody twisting and shimmering like a dim frequency deep into the starry night. \nMenu\n \n\n

DESCRIPTION:2026 Volunteer Days\nGibbs Farm\nSelect Friday Mornings at 10:00AM and Tuesday Evenings at 5:30PM\nFree to Sign Up\nHelp us tackle our to-do list! Volunteer at Gibbs Farm on select Friday Mornings and Tuesday Evenings during the 2026 season. The outdoor projects change weekly usually planting\, watering\, weeding\, harvesting\, light landscape and orchard projects. \nRegister Here \nProjects are best for ages 6+ and are great for students\, families\, small groups (workplace teams\, clubs\, scouts\, 4-H ect.) and individuals. Children under 12 should sign up with an adult. \nNo experience necessary! Projects will be lead by Gibbs Farm staff and all supplies\, materials and instructions are provided. \nHave a question or need to cancel your registration? Email Clare @ RCHS.com. \nDay of Instructions: \nVolunteers should park in the Gibbs Farm public parking lot of Cleveland Ave and enter the site through the wooden gates\, Clare will meet you there!\nPlease wear close-toed shoes and clothes you can work in.\nThere are bathrooms and a drinking fountain with water bottle filler on site.
