SUMMARY:Beeswax Candles with Pressed Flowers
DESCRIPTION:Third Annual Winter Candle making \nTickets $17 ($15 RCHS Members) \nGet Tickets Here \n  \nAdd some light to the darkest part of the year! Each participant will dip a set of large taper beeswax candles and decorate them with pressed herbs\, flowers and foliage gathered this year at Gibbs. These candles smell amazing\, burn steadily and are perfect for winter celebrations and heartfelt gifts. The project will take about 45 minutes register for a timeslot at 11 am\, 12pm\, 2pm or 3pm. \n  \nMaking hand dipped candles has been part of our programming for many years\, and it is one of the most memorable parts of our field trip program. Gibbs Farm volunteers and staff will lead you through this project and will have everything you need to get creative with natural materials. \n  \nThis very cool project involves hot wax and timing! All children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. For safety and success all kids under 7 will need hands on\, one-on-one help from their grown up for the whole project. \n  \nDetails: \n1 candle set per registration. \nThis program is meant to be accessible for all\, email us if cost is a barrier. \nThe program will take place in our red barn space which is a short distance from our parking lot\, please reach out for accessible drop off and parking info. \nEmail Clare @ RCHS. DESCRIPTION:Gibbs Farm’s 4th Annual Steampunk Halloween Trick-or-Treat Trail\n2097 West Larpenteur Avenue\, Saint Paul\, MN 55113\nSaturday\, October 25th\, 2025\n3:00 PM-7:15 PM\n\nRegister Here\n\n$15 for trick-or-treaters 3 and older\n$5 for trick-or-treaters 2 and under (no charge for infants)\n$10 for non-trick-or-treating adults.\nMembers of the Ramsey County Historical Society receive 10% off tickets\n\nTake a dash of Secret Garden magic\, sprinkle in a little Jules Verne-esque imagination\, and combine with a generous array of candy and you’ve got a Trick-or-Treating adventure for folks of all ages! Visit the twisting stacks of books at the library\, match wits with a traveling magician\, make friends with a fairy\, and decide whether or not to throw your lot in with some mischievous sky pirates. Enjoy live music from Light of the Moon band! \nThe start of the trail is timed\, approximately 40 minutes long\, and ends at the exit of the site. Prior registration for an entry timeslot is required. The trail is family friendly and intended for all ages! \nTimed Entry from 3:00 PM–5:00 PM & 5:30 PM–7:15 PM \nPlease note that there will be no admittance from 5-5:30pm.

Lend a helping hand to the MNSeed Project in cleaning native seeds as you enjoy the natural beauty of the landscape.  \nRelax in the Courtyard\nLight of the Moon Band will set the soundtrack as you explore the courtyard activities! The outdoor projects change weekly usually planting\, watering\, weeding\, harvesting\, light landscape and orchard projects. \n  \nProjects best for ages 6+ and are great for students\, families\, small groups (workplace teams\, clubs\, scouts\, 4-H ect.) and individuals. Children under 12 should sign up with an adult. \nNo experience necessary! Projects will be lead by Gibbs Farm staff and all supplies\, materials and instructions are provided. \nHave a question or need to cancel your registration? SUMMARY:August Tree Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join a 45-minute walking tour through the Gibbs Farm site lead by Master Naturalists Cathy Croghan and Kathy Robbins. The tour tallest trees (Burr Oak\, Black Walnut) and some of our newer additions (Tamarack and American Hazelnut)! Learn how these Minnesota trees were used for food\, medicine and shelter by the Dakota and settlers. This event is geared for adults or tree-lovers 12+ but all ages are welcome. \nPre-Register Here!\nGibbs Farm is open to the public on Fridays from 12-3 and Saturdays from 10-4 this summer. The Tree Tour is included in regular Saturday admission price. As always RCHS\, members visit Gibbs Farm at no cost. \nWalk-ins are welcome but you can also reserve your tour spot by pre-paying admission online\, or by calling the Gibbs Farm Office at 651-646-8629. After the Tour\, stick around to take a history tour or enjoy the prairie on your own\, we suggest bringing a camera\, snack or picnic! \n  \n
