This vision will become a reality as our outdoor dinner series partnership with The Good Acre kicks off its second season. For this first Gibbs Farm dinner of the summer\, enjoy a Kamayan Feast created by Chef Yia Vang of Union Kitchen. The evening will begin with tours of the beautiful Gibbs Farm\, a hidden gem of prairie and farmland just down the road from The Good Acre. Their experts will be on hand to give you a walking tour of the historic site and offer context on the food traditions of Minnesota’s past. Then you’ll gather around the open fire with Chef Yia. In Filipino\, “Kamay” means “with your hands”\, so yes this is traditionally an “eat with your hands” communal feast (however utensils and hand towels will be available!). Chef Yia will share his story of Hmong food\, the idea behind the Kamayan Feast\, and demonstrate some open fire cooking techniques during this delicious evening. Oh\, and if you have a camera\, bring it!
