Congratulations to the winners of the 2016 Virginia B. Kunz Award for publishing!

Virginia B. Kunz Award

We would like to congratulate the nominees and winner of the 2016 RCHS Virginia Kunz Award, awarded for the best articles in Ramsey County History magazine over a two-year period, in this case for the eight issues released in 2014 and 2015. The Virginia B. Kunz Award for Best Article was awarded to Donald Empson, for his article, “The History of the Mississippi River Boulevard,” (Vol. 49, #2, Summer 2014). The other Virginia Kunz Award nominees were Eileen R. McCormack, “Robert C. Minor: Steward on James J. Hill’s Private Railway Car,” (Vol. 49, #4, Winter 2015); and John Watson Milton, “RIP-35E and the Pleasant Avenue Route through St. Paul,” (Vol. 48, #4 Winter 2014).

The Award was granted at the RCHS Annual Celebration at the Town & Country Club in Saint Paul on October 11, 2016.

Congratulations to Don, Eileen and John, and thank you to ALL of our authors and researchers who have contributed to “Ramsey County History” magazine to make it the quality publication that it is!
