Collections

The RCHS Mary Livingston Griggs & Mary Griggs Burke Research Center contains non-circulating collections documenting the history of Ramsey County and St. Paul.

The collection contains books, periodicals, city directories, maps, photographs, personal papers, business and organization records, architectural information and materials on clubs, schools, events, and churches.

Ramsey County Historical Society is moving to a new online access system to provide expanded access to its collections. The entire collection and the St. Paul Building Permit collection will soon be searchable online.

Please note that during this period of transition, we are unable to provide online collections access.  You may always visit our Mary Livingston Griggs and Mary Griggs Burke Research Center in the Landmark Center during our public hours (M-TH, 12:30p-4:30p) to conduct your research or reach out to staff for assistance at research@rchs.com or 651-204-1283.  You may still access an archival collections list here:

We welcome you to the Mary Livingston Griggs and Mary Griggs Research Center  Monday – Thursday, 12:30pm – 4:30pm.

Appointments are strongly encouraged to assure you that will have ready access to one of the two patron computers in the Center.

No food or drink is allowed in the Center.
