Thousands upon thousands of pioneer women flooded into Minnesota during the territorial and early statehood years. Many of these women left behind family and friends to move halfway across America, or even half way across the world, to settle into their new homes.
Along with their husbands, they established schools and churches, raised families and contributed to the heritage of our state.
A pioneer woman’s kitchen was considered the heart of the home. It was in this realm that women created family recipes and specialties that remain a part of our Minnesota heritage today.
Each topic will include a history and a hands-on activity to take home.
Programs are open to all.
Free parking in our Gibbs Farm lot.
Note: Please schedule groups of more than 10 guests two weeks in advance.
