Fifty Years of Friendship Connected in Community Service: The Minneapolis-St. Paul (MN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
Author: Marion Jones Kennon

In 1972, sixteen women joined in friendship and service to charter the Minneapolis-St. Paul (MN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Today, their chapter is one of 292 across most of the US, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. These women—attorneys, businesswomen, CEOs, healthcare professionals, judges, social justice advocates, and others—have pledged to contribute their time, talent, and treasure to make a difference in the lives of African Americans and people of African ancestry. Through a five-facet programming model, they provide important and life-changing services to youth, promote and celebrate the arts, seek ways to help others locally, nationally, and internationally, and make healthcare a priority in communities of color. See author Marion Jones Kennon’s article to learn more about these dynamic Twin Cities changemakers over the last fifty years.
