Join RCHS for a new series, History Revealed, featuring the best of local history authors talking about a wide range of topics drawn from the heritage and traditions of Ramsey County.
Ethel Hall Stewart was a historian, a preservationist, a community organizer and a force of nature. Author and historian Steve Trimble presents Mrs. Stewart’s work in preserving the Gibbs Farm, founding the Ramsey County Historical Society and her contributions to the history of Ramsey County. He will also talk about his process and adventures in uncovering details of the life of this remarkable woman, and will give insights into what it took for her and her contemporaries to save Gibbs Farm and its history for future generations.
Steve Trimble is an author, a historian, and a frequent contributor to the Dayton’s Bluff District Forum. He is a member of the Ramsey County Historical Society Editorial Board, and has written a number of articles for their magazine, Ramsey County History, including two on Ethel Stewart and Gibbs Farm. Steve is a frequent lecturer, author, and book collector.
