The Arts – The Links Exhibit

Throughout the nation today, The Links, Incorporated chapters partner with museums, symphonies, arts councils, educational institutions, and corporations to advocate for art programs, especially where there is a focus on artists of color. Links members champion opportunities for educating minority youth in the arts. They present and support performances by youth and accomplished professional artists in a diversity of disciplines.

The Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser

The Annual Fashion Show began in the late 1980s as a small event with local black models and Links chapter members walking the runway in clothing donated by local department stores such as Cedric’s, Young Quinlan, Frank Murphy, and Peck and Peck.

Over its 30 years, the fashion show became a sellout event that highlighted inclusive sizing practices and featured models wearing clothing from national department stores such as Dayton’s, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Marshall Field’s.

Celebrity emcees, highly-coveted door prizes, and off-the-rack clothing sales were among the show highlights. The event was a major chapter fundraiser with a large portion of the money earned supporting the scholarship fund.
