Back by popular demand!
45 minute, register for a 11am, 12pm, 2pm or 3pm timeslot
Add some light to the darkest part of the year! Each participant will dip a set of large taper beeswax candles and decorate them with pressed herbs, flowers and foliage gathered this year at Gibbs. These candles smell amazing, burn steadily and are perfect for winter celebrations and heartfelt gifts. The project will take about 45 minutes with four timeslots available.
Making hand dipped candles has been part of our programming for many years, and it is one of the most memorable parts of our field trip program. Gibbs Farm volunteers and staff will lead you through this project and will have everything you need to get creative with natural materials.
This very cool project involves hot wax and timing! All children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. For safety and success all kids under 7 will need hands on, one-on-one help from their grown up for the whole project.
