Join RCHS for History Revealed, our program series featuring presentations and tours from the best of local historians, authors and archaeologists, with a wide range of topics drawn from the heritage and traditions of Ramsey County.
Fredrick McGhee remains, over a century after his untimely death, Minnesota’s greatest civil rights leader. He was the first African-American Minnesotan famous in his own time. Come to Waldmann’s and find out more about this fascinating leader from historian and author Paul Nelson.
Paul D. Nelson is an author and historian. He is the author of numerous articles for Ramsey County History magazine, and is the author of Fredrick L. McGhee: A Life on the Color Line 1861-1912, published in 2002. Paul is the co-author, along with Sister Joan Kain, of Rocky Roots: Geology & Stone Construction in Downtown St. Paul, published by the Ramsey County Historical Society.
Registration is needed to attend presentations. Space is limited, first-come, first served.
