Join us for an afternoon with Catherine Hinz, founder of The Conservatory, a St. Paul vintage home goods shop dedicated to preserving the stories behind cherished objects. Through a Q&A, Catherine will share how a passion for vintage finds and meaningful human connections grew into a business centered on memory, history, and renewal.
Before opening The Conservatory, Catherine founded a grief and loss care package company, where she began sourcing heirloom-style mugs and glassware from local thrift stores. As she connected with families parting with treasured belongings, she discovered that each object carried a story—often tied to love, loss, and remembrance.
These experiences inspired The Conservatory, a space where vintage pieces are given new life and their histories are honored. Whenever possible, Catherine collects and shares the stories behind the items she offers, connecting past and present through everyday objects.
Learn about the power of preserving personal histories, the restoration of The Conservatory’s century-old Grand Avenue home, and how vintage treasures continue to bloom in new hands.
