Volunteers are needed in the collections department to digitize and catalog newly accessioned photographs and catalog new archival collections and artifacts. There’s no experience required, just an interest in research, preserving history, and a good attention to detail, although, computer aptitude is a must.
You’ll likely need to access other digital resources to prepare the best catalog records. Scanning photographs and photographing artifacts using a DSLR camera is also needed. Training will be provided on how best to handle historic items, as well as a database manual of the industry-standard meta data methods and terminology.
Work must be completed in the Landmark Center collections office in 3-5 hour weekly periods during the hours of 9a-430p, Monday-Friday.
