Hazenwincle Collection

Material consists of family correspondence and the military service of one son in the Spanish-American War.  Also included are photographs, army documents, a notebook, and a medallion.

Herrel (Mildred) Collection

Materials relate to early days in Russell, Minnesota, and later attendance in the St. Luke’s Hospital Nursing Program, including class notes, photographs, textbooks, and a graduation program; and a later textbook at a returning time to nursing.

Historic Irvine Park Association Collection

1970-2000 [2021.63]

Material consists of records of the association of residents of Irvine Park, St. Paul’s oldest residential neighborhood that first faced the issues of historic preservation in the 1970s. Included are articles of incorporation and by-laws, minutes (1972-1990), treasurer’s records, historical articles and newspaper clippings. There are extensive files on individual homes in Irvine Park, particularly on South Exchange, Ryan, Sherman, Walnut, and Irvine Park streets. They include histories of the buildings and their owners researched by Jim Sazevich and other members of the Association. Also included are newspaper clippings on renovation work done on the homes. Correspondence and subject files are also included, some dealing the construction of Shepard Road and rock concerts at the nearby St. Paul Civic Center.

HIV/AIDS Healthcare Worker Oral History Collection

Materials includes newsletters and magazine articles describing the Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection in Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Studies at the University of Minnesota, and the purpose and scope of the Minnesota HIV/AIDS Healthcare Worker Oral History Project. The bulk of the collection consists of oral history transcripts of healthcare workers who cared for Minnesota patients during the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Two books are included: one is a compilation of other health care worker oral histories from around the country while the other is a history of the various Gay-Lesbian-Transgender-Bisexual communities in Minnesota.

This project has been financed in part with funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.
